Overview
What is an NVQ?
An NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) is a qualification that assesses someone’s competence (that is the skills, knowledge and understanding they have) principally in a work situation.
Who is this qualification suitable for?
This NVQ is designed to reflect the skills and knowledge of people who are thinking about a career which involves management and leadership. Aimed at 16-19 yrs.
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.
Qualification structures
To achieve a full OCR Level 2 NVQ in Team Leading, a candidate must complete four mandatory units and two optional units.
Assessment and grading
Like all NVQs, this qualification is competence-based. This means that it is linked to a person’s ability to competently complete tasks.
Progression opportunities
These qualifications have also been designed to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding required to enable progression, For example, a candidate achieving an OCR Level 2 NVQ in Team Leading may:
• Progress to the OCR Level 3 NVQ in Management, or
• Widen their skills and undertake other OCR work-based qualifications
